It is widely expected that Marc Wilson will complete his move to Stoke City in the very near future, with Dave Kitson and Liam Lawrence to come the other way along with some cash.
It's not know when exactly Wilson will leave for the Potters, as Andrew Andronikou has said that the Irishman won't be sold before Saturday's match with Cardiff.
Stoke chairman Peter Coates has confirmed that Lawrence would be heading to Pompey as part of the deal, whilst Dave Kitson is also reported to be joining the club.
As for the cash sum, some sources claim that Pompey will receive £3 million as well as the two players for Wilson, which would be an absolute steal and therefore I don't believe it will happen!
I hold Wilson in high regard and I believe he will go on to be a great player in the future, but if I'm being honest I would rather take some cash plus two excellent Championship players in Kitson and Lawrence.
It may mean we lose the only creative spark our midfield has but with Lawrence added to the side, Steve Cotterill could employ a more balanced 4-4-2 system with Ritchie on the left and Lawrence on the right.
Then we'd also have a proven goal poacher in Kitson up front, someone who should guarantee at least 15 goals at Championship level.
So as much as I'd have wanted Wilson to stay, this deal would be too good to turn down, especially if there is cash involved too.
It seems like Kanu may also be available for Saturday's game, as his contract situation is close to being resolved.
