When Harry met Dani...Redknapp renews interest in Atletico Madrid winger

Harry Redknapp knows the former Portuguese under 21 international, taking him on loan for West Ham United in 1996. Back then he was more famous for his looks than anything he actually achieved on the pitch at Upton Park, but the loan did result in my favourite Harry Redknapp qoute ever. When a journalist commented 'he's a good looking bloke, Harry', 'Knapp replied: 'Yeah. When he comes on, the other teams defenders don't know whether to mark him or shag him, know what I mean?' - priceless.

Anyway, Dani - who has also played for Ajax and Benfica - is currently having trials at Glasgow Celtic, who harbour their own hopes of signing him. As Dani is a free agent, neither Portsmouth nor Celtic would have to wait until the transfer window re-opens to sign him.
