Now that the UEFA Cup dream has died, Pompey must fully focus on qualifying the competition next season which means victory against basement team West Brom is a must.
The Baggies are starting to look cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table and haven't won in eight matches. This stat will worry Pompey fans as we tend to gift struggling teams when they need it most, don't we?
Tony Mowbray needs to decide whether to employ a 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 formation tomorrow with the smart money on him picking two up front given our defensive frailties this season. Ishmael Miller and Roman Bednar have hardly been prolific this season but unless our back five get organised then I can see either one of them scoring.
Tony Adams has more injury worries to cope with as Armand Traore is likely to miss the game after limping off in Wolfsburg. Niko Kranjcar is likely to replace him on the left with Glen Little on the right as John Utaka is still injured.
There is some good news though as West Brom have the worst home defence in the division and although Pompey have been struggling at the back we have been scoring at least two goals in the last four games and so we should find the net again tomorrow.
But can the defence keep the ball out of David James' net? And will Jamo himself bounce back after that shocking error in Germany?
If we can keep a rare clean sheet then I think we've got enough quality up front to win the game, but even against a team as poor as West Brom I can't see us keeping a clean sheet. There should be plenty of goals that's for certain!

Last Time: West Bromwich Albion 2 Pompey 1
Back in 2005 under Alain Perrin, Pompey suffered a 2-1 defeat at The Hawthorns courtesy of two early goals from Geoff Horsfield after some awful defending and even worse goalkeeping from Sander Westerveld.
Laurent Robert curled in a great free kick to get Pompey back into the game but Giannis Skopelitis missed a great opportunitu and Bryan Robson's team won. Of course, Kanu scored the winner in the FA Cup Semi-Final when the two sides met on neutral territory last season.
Pundit Watch
Lawro: Home Win (2-0)
Sky Sports: Away Win (2-1)
Soccernet: Away Win
My Prediction: West Brom have the fewest wins in the league, lost more matches and dropped the most points in the league, scored the least goals and conceded the most goals in the league and failed to score in the most matches in the league. You know what's coming then....
West Bromwich Albion 3 Pompey 2
