Here's some news for you to read, whether it's tonight or Thursday morning.
Arsenal won at Wigan tonight, meaning that Pompey have dropped down to the low position of 4th in the Premiership without even playing. The Gunners are our opponents this Saturday and now we'd have to beat them to overtake them in the league.
As if that task wasn't difficult enough, it's been made even harder following the news that we may have no fit strikers ahead of the game. Benjani, LuaLua and Cole will certainly not feature at the Emirates Stadium this weekend whilst Kanu still remains doubtful.
Portsmouth have Rennes Under-21 midfielder Arnold Mvuemba on trial according to reports. There apparently could be a swap deal for him involving Niko Kranjcar although I can't see why we would want to get rid of him considering that Harry has been singing his praises and the fact that he's still adjusting to English football. The Quay has reported that there is no such swap deal in the pipeline however.
The papers have also linked Charlton striker Darren Bent to Pompey in January. I don't see this one happening personally although I'd welcome him here with open arms. If he goes anywhere I'd think it would be to West Ham where Alan Curbishley was announced as Alan Pardew's replacement today.
That's it for tonight folks.
