Adam Webster has been loaned to Aldershot Town until Christmas in a bid to see him play more first-team football.
Guy Whittingham has plenty of options in defence (even if they all let him down on Saturday) and so a move to the Conference club should benefit both Webster and Pompey.
The Portsmouth manager has also indicated that Ashley Harris could be loaned out to get some playing time as he considers Patrick Agyemang, David Connolly, Tom Craddock and Ryan Bird ahead of him in the striking pecking order.
Again, this would make sense as Harris' fledgling Pompey career has faded since he burst onto the scene in the early stages of last season. With regular football he could fulfil his potential and come back to Fratton Park as more than a bit-part player whose main attribute is to run around like a headless chicken.
