Drink driving is a topical subject at the moment, with Arsenal/Birmingham midfielder Jermaine Pennant sentenced to three months in prison for a variety of motoring offences - drink driving included. He's not the first person involved with football to be caught; indeed in the last few months alone Southampton's Fabrice Fernandes and former Wales manager Terry Yorath have been found guilty of driving whilst under the influence.
Of course here at Portsmouth we've also had our fair share of drink drivers - none more tragic than Aaron Flahavan, who was well over the legal limit when he crashed his car and killed himself aged only 25.
The latest in a long and sorry line is David Unsworth, currently out of favour at Fratton Park and on loan to Championship side Ipswich. Unsworth was stopped by police near his home in Whiteley and was apparently three times over the legal limit.
He's set to face Fareham magistrates in the next couple of weeks and, for a first offence in which no-one was injured and nothing damaged, will no doubt be let off with a ban and fine which will be small fry to a professional footballer. Even so it's a crime that seems to be becoming more and more common amongst these young men with more money than sense, keen on a bit of booze and driving fast cars - admittedly the "young men" bit doesn't really apply to Unsworth, but it's a worrying trend all the same.
