It's transfer talk time again and whilst we haven't signed anyone yet there's been plenty of talk going on.
To start, Achille Emana has denied that Pompey have signed him and that he is still very much a Toulouse player for the time being, with Rennes also chasing his signature. As for the other player who we've supposedly struck a deal with; Olivier Thomert, it is said that Lens have accepted a bid for the 26 year old and terms are now being discussed.
Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in Sol Campbell in an interview quoted as saying he's be an inspirational leader to the team but it's a case of Arsenal wanting to let him go. Nicholas Anelka has also said he's not interested in joining Pompey.....yet. He wants to wait and see what we do before making a decision... apparently.
Portugese striker Nuno Gomes has also emerged as a possible transfer target for Pompey, however Benfica say it would take a substanstial offer to let the 29 year old go. Other strikers in the frame are Henri Camara (still) and Yakubu although tabloid reports about us making a bid for him have been rubbished.
On the other side of the transfer window former Pompey striker Vincent Pericard has joined Tony Pulis back at Stoke City, as Pulis recently returned there after nearly a season at Plymouth. Gary Silk has now joined League 2 side Notts County too.
Still no new signings yet then, but there's still ages to go yet so no need for panic!
