You know the rules by now.
Robert Green
According to Norwich they've never received any bid from us and what's more they're especially unhappy at Milan's £2.5m quoted price. What I find most intriguing about this is that his agent says we HAVE made an offer, so surely if Norwich don't think we have then it must be tapping up? So will Norwich go to the FA and try to get us investigated, or do we think they're just lying to try and get more money from a bigger bid elsewhere? Not that I'm a cynic, you understand.
Carlton Cole
If rumours are to be believed, Pompey and Chelsea are set to meet on Monday to talk deal. £2m is the figure and Cole is believed to be keen to move somewhere else full time, rather than being chucked around on loan for a few years. No doubt it is slightly frustrating for him that despite Chelsea claiming they need a big and powerful frontman he hasn't even been considered by the management.
Kevin Phillips
Set to complete a £1m move to Aston Villa, so that's an alleged long-term target off the agenda. I'm not really sure what Villa's intentions are for this season, considering they're a side who have vague lost ideas of challenging for Europe. Signing players like Phillips and Berger is hardly planning for the long term is it?
Julio Arca
A new story from the North East, but apparently we're in the chase for his signature along with Everton. A popular player at the Stadium of Light with over 150 appearances, he'd certainly be a useful addition and is believed to want a new challenge after spending five years with the Black Cats.
Steve Stone
Down south Stoney had it made - a big house, settled family, and liked the area he was living in. What's more, Harry Redknapp made him an offer which could've seen him stay in Hampshire and yet still continue to play football. But true to his word that he would never go down the road Stoney has today signed a contract with Leeds. Good luck to him at Elland Road and hopefully we can draw them in one of the cups and give him a good reception at Fratton.
