'Arry hasn't been back long but when he was in charge there was never any shortage of transfer rumours and with the window almost upon us there have been plenty of transfers to be thought about, and scoffed at. Here are the main ones for you all to ponder over:
Marcel Desailly
At the tender age of 37 ex-Chelsea mainstay Desailly has admitted he would like to return to the Premiership after his family failed to settle in the Middle East. However he then contradicts himself saying it would be hard to play against Chelsea in the Premiership. Hmmmm...
If we were to sign him he'd be on big wages and although he would bring a wealth of experience to the team we could argue we already have that in Stefanovic and Primus and at 37 some might argue he's past it now. Certainly a risk.
Amdy Faye
Rumoured to be on Harry's wish list because he rarely gets a game in Newcastles talented midfield. In my opinion Amdy is capable of a decent performance occasionally and his last game for us against Blackburn was very good (until he got sent off). However he is prone to laziness and if he were to return he would need to work his arse off to get in Pompey fans' good books again.
Steve Lomas
Linked to us because he played under Redknapp at West Ham. Currently at QPR I can only think this is lazy media speculation and in a bold Fratton Faithful prediction I cannot see Lomas in a Pompey shirt come January.
Sean Davis
Not getting much joy from Spurs at the moment because Carrick and Davids are keeping him well out of the team. He's not a bad player in my view and he might add some more steel to a midfield that gives the ball away far too often.
Nigel Quashie
No "Harry Redknapp Transfer Talk" would be complete without mentioning Nigel "Scummer" Quashie. Fans of our dear neighbours say he is one of their best players, which just goes to show how poor they are. A transfer wouldn't suprise me in honesty and if he does come back then make sure you get your headguards at the ready as the ball could be coming to a stand near you! The burning question is will the Pompey fans accept him back?
That wraps it up for today.. no doubt next week there will be another fifty players rumoured for me to write about so keep checking this page out for any new ramblings.
