The local news is reporting that Tony Adams has verbally agreed to stay at Portsmouth next season.
It was thought that the ex-Arsenal and England skipper would move on after this season but it seems winning the FA Cup has given us yet another bonus as Adams has been convinced to stay at Fratton Park to oversee Pompey's first venture into Europe.
Peter Storrie said "I have spoken to Tony's agent and it has been verbally agreed for him to stay another 12 months."
This is one of the best pieces of news we will hear in the close season in my opinion. Whilst Harry will take the majority of the credit for our success the impact that Tony has had on this club shouldn't be underestimated.
Do you think that we would have been so solid at the back and won so many away games without him by Redknapp's side? I certainly don't and his coaching can only continue to improve the defensive aspect of our game.
Adams is an ambitious man and it could be that he will end up leaving at the end of next season but I'm sure he will have left the club having made his mark.
