For the first time ever three Portsmouth players represented England yesterday in the 2-0 friendly win over the USA.
David James and Jermain Defoe both started the match and Glen Johnson was introduced as a second half substitute for Wes Brown, meaning that a trio of Pompey's stars were playing for England at the same time for the first time ever.
It was a proud moment for the club and in the future we could have even more players in the squad if Peter Crouch does decide to join us for a reasonable price and if Shaun Wright-Phillips makes his rumoured £10 million move to Fratton Park.
As for the match itself I think we played fairly well against a poor USA side that lacked in every department. Defoe had a few chances and probably should have scored one of them but he was sharp and looked a threat when he had the ball.
Jamo was barely troubled all game and only had to make one semi-decent save when he tipped an awkward cross behind for a corner whilst Glen Johnson also had a comfortable evening.
It looks like that all three will feature against Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday too, so that'll mean more for Pompey fans to be proud of. Having three top players in the England side was unthinkable just a couple of years ago.
As was boasting a full French international but we can now also do that after Lassana Diarra was named in Raymond Domenech's final squad for Euro 2008 ahead of Mathieu Flamini. We might have another if Sidney Govou gets his wish and joins Portsmouth in the summer.
In other news, Pompey have confirmed that next season's home strip will be all blue to celebrate the club's 110 year anniversary but thankfully this is for one season only and Pompey will revert back to the traditional blue shirt, white shorts and red socks for the 2009/2010 campaign.
If you haven't seen the kit yet then you can view it by clicking here. I'm not a fan personally, there's way too much yellow/gold on it and would have looked better in white. It may grow on me once I have seen it in person I suppose....
