The Opposition View: Wycombe Wanderers

Last updated : 30 January 2015 By Jim Bonner

Given how well Wycombe have done so far this season, how disappointed would you be if your team failed to win promotion despite the struggles of last season?

I wouldn't feel too bad as we are a team in progress so if we miss out but keep the team together we should get promotion next season.

Marcus Bean was highly regarded by Pompey fans during his loan spell at Fratton Park. Have Wycombe fans taken to him?

Bean has started off quite well and is popular with the Wycombe fans. He may have to step up a bit now Josh Scowen has joined Barnsley.

Gary Waddock could well end up being the next Pompey manager if results don't improve. What do Wycombe fans think of him given his time in charge there?

Got us relegated, then promoted then relegated again so not much love for Waddock. His team selections and tactics were dire. Last season he joined Oxford who were just outside the play-offs and in ten games I think he lost nine of them. (Ed: He was in charge for eight games and lost seven of them, meaning his contract got terminated in July.)

Who are the key players in this current Chairboys side?

Alfie Mawson in central defence a young player with a big future ahead of him has been our stand out player this season.

What are Wycombe's biggest weaknesses that Pompey might exploit on Saturday?

You can't expect me to answer that one!

Given the respective form of both teams, are you expecting a straightforward victory for your team this weekend?

No, as we're struggling to score goals at the moment.

Where would the best places be to go for any Pompey fans visiting Adams Park?

If your're in town try The Hobgoblin in High Wycombe High Street, it's a cracking little pub with quality real ales.

Predict the outcome of the match.
