The Opposition View: Crawley Town

Last updated : 17 August 2015 By Jim Bonner

After relegation last season what are your hopes and expectations for this campaign?

I hope we can sneak into the play-offs but I expect we'll struggle.

What do you think of the appointment of Mark Yates as your manager?

Yates seems a good League Two manager but you can't set the world aflame unless you have something to start a fire. Lack of funds will hamper him.

What have you made of Crawley's season so far?

Good away point at Oxford followed by a predictable loss to Posh but Saturday's defeat to AFC Wimbledon was a horror show.

Izale McLeod and Sonny Bradley once wore the royal blue of Portsmouth. What do Crawley fans think of them?

Sonny is a good stopper, is liked on the terraces and has been made club captain. Izale is on strike as he tries to get a transfer. Hardly a way to endear yourself to the fans.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of this Red Devils side?

The defence is quite good but central midfield is weak.and in Simon Walton we have a red card waiting to happen. We also lack goals unless Izale decides to play.

What do you make of the current Portsmouth squad and their prospects for this season?

Pompey should get promoted but they should have got promoted last season I'm told. (Ed: Whoever was telling you that was telling massive porkies!)

Predict the outcome of the game.

You will win easily. I hope I'm wrong.
