Be honest, you thought Henri Camara was a bit stupid. This is a guy, after all, with an uncanny knack for being in the wrong place at the right time - he's been relegated three seasons in a row with Sedan, Wolves and Southampton, for a start. Not forgetting the fact that he was silly enough to come to English football with Wolves in the first place, which is always a bad choice.
But he's shown himself to be not entirely stupid as apparently he's turned down a chance to move to Wigan, leading to Milan admitting that we might well be interested in re-igniting our interest in the Senegal hitman. Obviously the thought of four relegations in a row was slightly off-putting although one would suspect it's also something to do with the fact that Wigan prefer their contracts to be based on performance related pay, something which guarantees Henri a pretty low pay packet every week.
Still we're back after him allegedly, but it'll set you back £3m plus. Hmm.
In other news Damien Francis (yawn) is having a medical at Wigan today after finally agreeing terms. The Quay, in all their mastery, have also picked up on the David Bentley story as seen on this site yesterday (own trumpet time) and apparently Milan has said he is one of our targets. Given how we're allowed one more loan move from England it certainly looks like a goer. The Sun reckon we're going to bid £500,000 for Monaco defender Rodriguez, although according to Sky Sports News, Rangers are also in the frame. And finally - an old classic - Basinas was apparently spotted house hunting in Port Solent. Or perhaps not.
