Peter Storrie has quit as Chief Executive Officer of Portsmouth Football Club but will remain as a "consultant" to "help the club for the semi-final".
I'm not entirely sure what "help the club for the semi-final" entails but this news is music to the ears of nearly every Pompey fan. He has finally done the right thing and walked after his incompetence has cost the club millions and cost people their jobs.
When I say "walked", he may easily have been pushed by fan pressure or for other reasons that may be revealed in the future. The last thing he claims to have done for the club is to bring in a South African consortium which has provided proof of funds and is ready to take over the club.
Whether that happens is something only time will tell, but whoever comes in will have a lot of damage to repair.
Storrie says he's going to take a break from football but "would like to return".
Southampton is just down the road, Peter.
