Miles Storey has had his loan spell cancelled and has now returned to Swindon Town.
Andy Awford's decision to send him back has seen some Pompey fans react angrily as he was the only player in the squad with any real pace and he had the ability make a real impact in matches.
Something must have happened between the player and the management as it wasn't that long ago that Awford said Storey was dropped due to "confidence issues" near the beginning of his loan spell and he hasn't even been subbed on in recent games despite a match, such as the Wimbledon game, crying out for someone of his potential.
However, Storey may not be as big a miss as some people think. Whilst he had talent he was extremely inconsistent and often went missing in away games. With so many loanees leaving it seems like Awford is set on building a squad full of permanent players during this transfer window.
It's now up to him to find a similar player to Storey who is more consistent, available for a permanent transfer and willing to play in League Two.
Good luck with that one, Andy...
