Pompey have been drawn at home to Reading in the second round of the Capital One Cup.
It's not exactly the most inspiring tie as the Royals are a mediocre Championship side these days but they'll still be considered the favourites to progress. However, Pompey fans will believe that Steve Clarke's men can be beaten in front of a raucous Fratton Park crowd having already beaten an arguably better team in Derby.
The match is likely to be played on Tuesday, August 25th with adult tickets costing £10 again so long as the ticket pricing is kept sensible.
In other news, Ben Close has extended his contract for another year which keeps him at the club until 2017. He has looked good whenever he has played for Pompey and could well break into the first team this season, so this is only good news.
Maybe he'll find the net against Reading and Pompey will win 7-4?
