Pompey were held to a second consecutive 1-1 draw in pre-season after being held at Bognor Regis.
Matt Tubbs gave Paul Cook's men an early lead after converting Enda Stevens' cross from close range but Alfie Rutherford equalised early into the second half after capitalising on a mistake from Paul Robinson.
The result isn't a good one but, as said before, results don't really matter in pre-season and nothing should be read into them. The players still have work to do to get used to Cook's style of play in his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation and it's better for mistakes due to lack of match practice to be ironed out now rather than in August when results really do matter.
The real bad news to come from yesterday was Gary Roberts' knee injury that saw him withdrawn at half-time. Cook is trying to play it down but he is going for a scan today to see the extent of the damage.
It would be a huge blow if Pompey's marquee signing was to miss a significant portion of the season because of a pre-season injury. Hopefully there isn't too much damage to worry about.
In the meantime another Pompey squad will take on Gosport Borough today and then they'll go to Westleigh Park to take on Coventry City on Tuesday.
