Redknapp surprised by Thatcher reports

The Wales defender, who has played for Millwall, Wimbledon and Tottenham, is expected to sign a deal with Manchester City this week but Harry Redknapp has told the press he still harbours hopes of making the full-back his own.

"Ben said before he went on holiday that he would sign (for Pompey) and I'd still be surprised if he didn't" Redknapp told BBC Radio Solent.
