Redknapp's comments are worrying in that they show a real lack of belief in his team's ability - despite staying up last season in reasonably convincing style.
Redknapp told press: '"It's always going to be hard, I didn't expect it to be different. It's going to be tight. There are going to be a lot of people scrapping to stay out of the bottom. It will be tough for Crystal Palace, West Brom, Norwich, us and a few other clubs."
Portsmouth currently sit just outside the relegation zone in 17th, although the league tables, with just two games played, are still in their silly season.
