Calm down people! No need to panic!
Sulley Muntari is still coming to Pompey according to Peter Storrie. The Pompey chief executive has told Pompey fans not to be concerned with the amount of time the deal is taking to finalise, as the Ghana midfielder is cited as having a few minor issues needing to be cleared up by his agent, but is confident the move will be done in the next few days.
Peter Storrie said: "It's just fine-tuning. The negotiations have been long, but they should be done during the second half of the week."
Storrie also commented on the recent speculation on the future of Matty Taylor, saying that the touted £5 million fee for Taylor is "laughable" and he then goes on to say "We're not interested in selling him, and even if we were it certainly wouldn't be for that price."
Harry Redknapp has also said "I want to keep Matt, and as far as I'm concerned, he is going nowhere. I am trying to strengthen my squad, not weaken it."
Obviously, it would be foolish to keep a player against his will but Matt has constantly dismissed speculation in the past and is settled with his wife here.
So by the looks of it, We'll have a new £7 million signing this week and keeping a player who is worth more than that as the squad is looking stronger and stronger by the week.
Meanwhile, more players have been linked to a move to Fratton Park.
Ligue 1 Champions Lyon's Alou Diarra is said to be available after the ex-Liverpool midfielder is said to have fallen out with the club and wants a move, although Serie B Champions and Italian giants Juventus are also said to be chasing his signature.
Harry Redknapp has also explained his liking for Rennes forward John Utaka. The 22-year-old scored 11 times in 34 apperances for the Ligue Une side.
Whether we'll get these players, who knows?
