Harry Redknapp will hope that the international break won't scupper any momentum that was built after the 3-0 over Everton as Middlesbrough roll into town tomorrow.
Gareth Southgate has built a side that could go places this season and Boro have enjoyed a good start this season having seen off Tottenham and Stoke at home whilst being desperately unlucky not to take anything from Anfield a few weeks ago.
We should expect a tough encounter at Fratton Park but Harry will probably stick with the same formation that served him so well at Goodison Park so we could be in for an entertaining game.
Redknapp is also likely to stick with the same personnel that shocked the Toffees a fortnight ago which means Nadir Belhadj will begin his Pompey career on the bench with Kanu returning from injury to join him there.
Pompey will be boosted by the fact that Tuncay, who scored twice past us last season is out injured whilst David Wheater has tonsillitis and may not play. Boro also haven't won on the road since their 1-0 win at Fratton Park in December last year. Mohamed Shawky is also out.
The bad news is that the "new and improved" Mido should start and given how many problems the "useless and overweight" Mido caused us in the past, he should be a threat. Gary O'Neil will also be returning to Fratton Park for the second time so he is sure to get a good reception.
I think this will be a good game as Boro aren't going to come here and play for a draw after their start whilst our new system should give us plenty of opportunities to attack, even if it leaves us open on the break.
I'm looking forward to this one.

Pundit Watch
Lawro: Home Win (2-0)
Sky Sports: Home Win (2-1)
Soccernet: Home Win
My Prediction: We shouldn't take Boro lightly but if our defence can hold firm against Alves and Mido, then I fancy our superior quality on the pitch to get the job done. I expect goals at both ends though...
