The Guardian has reported that Portsmouth Football Club are due to release a statement shortly that will explain everything happening at the club.
The newspaper spoke to Daniel Azougy who claims that Ali Al-Faraj is on the verge of paying creditors £40 million by the 10th of January and that the players will be paid today, despite having missed the earlier deadline of 1pm.
Azougy then goes on to state how big the "mess" was that was left by our previous owners in Sacha Gaydamak and Sulaiman Al-Fahim. The full piece can be read by clicking here - it's well worth a read.
So if what Azougy says is true, Mark Jacob will release a statement later with all the figures and facts so that Pompey fans can finally digest everything going on behind the scenes.
I await this statement with great interest....
