Paul Cook has signed his second player for Portsmouth by bringing Kal Naismith to Fratton Park from Accrington Stanley for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old has signed a three-year-deal and is likely to play in his new team as a winger due to his pace and skill, much like Kyle Bennett. The Scot made his debut in League Two playing for Stanley against Pompey last season and has impressed ever since.
The Scot began his career at Rangers and had loan spells at Cowdenbeath and Partick Thistle before being tempted to English football where he scored 14 goals in 73 appearances for Accrington. He has been a thorn in Pompey's side whenever he has played against them and will certainly give Matt Tubbs some good support going forward.
On paper, this is another good signing from Paul Cook as he now has two quick wingers on his team that are capable of giving defences problems with their pace as well as the capability to score goals themselves.
Gary Roberts could be the next player to sign for Pompey after Chesterfield rejected a bid for the 31-year-old attacking midfielder today. It's expected an improved offer will soon be tabled and talks will take place to bring the Spireites' star man down south.
Should he sign, then Cook will be starting to assemble a team capable of winning promotion from League Two.
