Paul Cook has signed goalkeeper Aaron McCarey from Wolverhampton Wanderers on emergency loan following injuries to Paul Jones, Brian Murphy and Michael Poke.
Murphy's groin injury meant he missed the game at Oxford and is likely to be absent for at least a couple of weeks. Jones has sustained a knee injury and could be out for up to a month whilst Eastleigh have sent Poke back to his parent club due to a shoulder problem.
That meant that Cook faced a goalkeeping crisis with Alex Bass his only available man between the sticks. However, he has now borrowed 23-year-old McCarey from Wolves for a month.
The former Ireland under-21 international made headlines back in May this year for failing a drugs test for a non-performance enhancing substance and then being suspended by his club for the offence.
He has only made five appearances for his parent club but has seen some action on loan at Walsall and York. It's said that Jed Wallace convinced him to come to the South Coast and only time will tell if he did us a favour or not!
