Pompey have completed the signing of Aston Villa striker Michael Drennan on a one-month loan.
The 20-year-old had previously been on loan at Carlisle United earlier this season and manager Graham Kavanagh wanted to extend his loan but wasn't able to afford the cost.
Although he never scored a league goal during his previous loan spell, he is highly rated by his peers, has scored plenty of goals at youth standard and has also represented Ireland at under-21 level.
With David Connolly gone and Ryan Taylor a doubt for tomorrow's match at Scunthorpe, Drennan's arrival is welcomed and hopefully it won't take him long to make an impact.
