Jake Jervis has signed for Portsmouth as expected and has been joined by ex-Bristol City striker Ryan Taylor.
Jervis, 22, was a free agent after his release from Elazigspor in Turkey and has finally been allowed to sign for Pompey by FIFA. The tall forward impressed during his short loan spell at Fratton Park last season and will be remembered for scoring an absolute belter at Tranmere. He should be a good addition to the squad.
Taylor, 25, made his name at Rotherham despite hardly being prolific having only scored 23 goals in 135 appearances. However, that was enough to convince Bristol City to sign him in 2011 but he was released last month having only scored twice in 39 games.
At six feet and two inches tall, Taylor may well be one of those players who is used as a battering ram or someone who the ball can be hoofed up to if Pompey are desperate for a goal. Let's just hope he isn't as useless as the previous big ginger striker who played for us!
