Portsmouth has confirmed that 21-year-old striker Marko Futacs has signed a one-year-deal with the club with the option of a further year.
Futacs joins from Werder Bremen having been loaned to German second division side FC Ingolstadt 04, where he scored two goals. Previous to that the Hungarian youth international scored 18 goals in 21 games for AS Nancy's reserve team.
Standing at 6'5'' tall, Futacs would offer Pompey an option to play the long ball if required. Hopefully his arrival won't see Pompey's style of play become even more turgid than what it was last season.
In all honesty, little is known about the boy from Budapest and so perhaps he will make an impact on English football, starting with a debut goal against Cardiff tomorrow.
