The Premier League is set to deny Portsmouth FC its £7 million January payment and instead give that money to clubs that are owed money for outstanding transfer fees.
Chelsea, Spurs and Watford are all owed money by Pompey and the Premier League has stepped in to ensure they get it. This could mean that although the club will lose out on £7 million, the transfer embargo will be lifted.
Of course, if the board were planning to use this money to pay Gaydamak what he is owed, then that plan has been blown out of the water and I dread to think of what contingency plan our incompetent owners are going to cook up next.
The League are well within their rights to do this and I'm sure that there are some relieved Watford fans out there given their recent cash crisis.
But what will this news mean for Pompey fans? I'll guess we'll find out tomorrow when our players will discover if they have been paid or not.
