Pompey have signed Sheffield United striker Mark McNulty on loan until the end of 2015.
The 23-year-old Scottish striker will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's FA Cup tie with Macclesfield and could make his debut against the Silkmen.
The former Celtic youth player was prolific in Scotland with Livingston and has scored ten goals this calendar year in 36 appearances for the Blades. He should already be popular amongst Portsmouth fans given that he scored the winner against Southampton in the League Cup quarter-finals last season!
McNulty is likely to give Matt Tubbs a run for his money as the best finisher at the club, now, and he may well stay on until 2016 if his parent club allows it. Hopefully he can provide the answer to Pompey's problems up front as none of the current frontmen have made that lone striker position their own this season.
Just don't get him confused with that fat centre back from Luton!
