Portsmouth have completed the one-month-loan signing of West Ham defender Dan Potts.
The 19-year-old is very highly regarded at Upton Park and won the Young Hammer of the Year award last two seasons ago having produced some excellent performances for one of the best youth academies in England.
Potts has made five appearances at senior level for West Ham and was on loan at Colchester for part of last season before being recalled by his parent club.
He is expected to play at left back for Pompey which only raises further doubts over the future of Dan Butler. If Guy Whittingham is prepared to borrow another young left back instead of giving his own promising player another run in the team then that tells its own story.
On the other hand, Butler is still currently at Aldershot and the defensive problems have become so bad in the last week, especially at full back, that the manager has decided on a quick fix to try and solve the problem.
So, if Potts is as good as other fans claim him to be then he should be able to help fix the full back problem Pompey currently have and that can only be a good thing after Pompey conceded nine goals in total last week.
