Pompey launch Anderton bid

The Tottenham midfielder, who moved to White Hart Lane nearly 11 years ago, is to be made available by Spurs on a free transfer and Pompey are prepared to dish-out £1million a year to bring Anderton back to the club.

"We've made an offer which is higher than I was originally prepared to make," Milandic told The News.

"But I've done it because he's a good player who Harry Redknapp rates highly and I can't question Harry's judgment after what he did last season.

"There's still a bit of a gap between the sides, but it's a very equitable offer from us. Now it's up to them."
