Andy Awford has won League Two's manager of the month award for February whilst Jed Wallace has picked up the player of the month award for the same month.
Awford's award comes as no surprise given that Pompey picked up 14 points from a possible 18 in February, more than any other team, and this was after an extremely difficult January which almost saw him get the sack. The "manager of the month curse" certainly struck Awford after the defeat at Northampton on Tuesday, so hopefully it won't continue on Saturday.
Wallace was chosen for his award ahead of Plymouth's Lewis Allessandra, Dagenham's Jamie Cureton and Burton's Phil Edwards. His outstanding performance in the demolition of Cambridge would have done a lot to influence the panel's decision as well as his last-gasp goal against Exeter. It's going to be extremely difficult to keep hold of Jed come the summer...
Congratulations to the pair of them on their well deserved awards and hopefully there are more to come in the future.
