Pompey chase Rangers defender

Pompey are looking to home grown talent to strengthen their back line after being thrawted in their attempts to sign Eric Ejiofor by the Dfee. Although Pompey are appealing against the decision, it seems they have turned their attentions north of the border with the news that Scott Wilson is being seen as the man to stiffen up Pompey's defence.

Wilson is well thought of up north but has been unable to establish himself in the team over the likes of Amoruso, Numan, Konterman, and Moore. A product of the youth academy, the 24 year old, has notched up 76 appearances for the club, 10 of which have been in Europe.

Aka Mark Burchill, the Scottish Giants seem unwilling to place complete trust in their home grown talent and Wilson seems willing to move south in order to play regular first team football. A bid of £1million is thought to be enough to prize the defender away from Ibrox.

Wilson, would fit in with Rix's policy of buying young and he would certainly make a formidable trio with Zamperini and Buxton. If completed this is a move that could spell the end for the likes of Scott Hiley and Carl Tiler.
