Pompey have signed Bury goalkeeper Trevor Carson on a three-month loan deal as Guy Whittingham looks to solve his goalkeeping crisis.
The 25-year-old was The Shakers' first choice goalkeeper last season and has made five appearances during this campaign so far. Bury fans say he's a good shot stopper and solid enough at League Two level but can understand letting him go as he was said to be one of Bury's highest earners and they have an even smaller wage budget than Pompey.
Hopefully he is better than the two other Portsmouth keepers otherwise it won't be long before the Scott/Willie/Frank "jokes" begin.
That's not all in terms of goalkeeping news as Alan Knight has stepped down as goalkeeping coach for "health reasons" and will now work as a club ambassador.
A cynic may suggest he was asked to change roles because he hasn't been getting results when it comes to improving Pompey's goalkeepers as Smith's and Sullivan's performances have shown this season.
I wonder what Linvoy Primus thinks of this given his previous dismissal from his ambassador role. If Pompey needed an ambassador, why was he not asked back? Or was he?
