The officials for the match at Scunthorpe on Saturday have called a pitch inspection for 9:30 tomorrow morning with the big freeze due to hit the country hard tomorrow.
England is about as prepared for snow as PKF are for a court case and so it's likely that the pitch at Glanford Park will be deemed frozen despite the efforts of the Iron fans who were asked to try and get the pitch playable for Saturday.
However, with temperatures set to drop below the pitch cover's threshold of -4C tonight and tomorrow night it seems like those efforts could well be in vain and the match will be postponed.
On the one hand it'll be good to have the game postponed on Friday so that people planning on travelling to the game won't have to waste time or money getting there on Saturday morning a la Hartlepool.
However, this would mean yet another midweek game in what is already a congested fixture list following the postponement last week. Anyone fancy a trip up to Lincolnshire on a Tuesday night?
At least if the game is postponed then Pompey fans can do something productive on a Saturday for a change, like build a snowman perhaps?
In other news, goalkeeping coach John Keeley and head of recruitment Luke Dowling have left Pompey to join Michael Appleton at Blackburn. It's like they want to be at a well run club or something...
