Josh Passley has extended his loan spell with Portsmouth for another month.
The Fulham right back was due to return to his parent club after last night's match but Andy Awford understanably wanted to keep him on after an impressive spell at Fratton Park.
The 20-year-old's loan extension will see him available for another six matches. Whether his loan is extended again after that will surely be down to what Pompey's prospects are by the time the end of March arrives.
If there is a serious challenge for promotion going on then it would make sense to keep him on as he is far better than any of the other options Awford has available at right back. If the season is virtually dead, he may as well be sent back with a permanent player ready to take his place and try and establish themselves in the first team.
But Passley has been a quality performer and we'll want him to stay as long as possible. He reminds me of Glen Johnson, a player who can defend but whose main quality is getting the ball forward and supporting attacks.
Hopefully Fulham won't end up recalling him...
