Jim Magilton has revealed his interest in taking David Nugent on loan for three months to boost their promotion hopes this season.
The Ipswich manager claims that Pompey have not ruled out letting the former Preston striker leave the club on loan, with North End also interested in taking back their fan favourite.
This could completely contradict Harry Redknapp's statement the other day when he said that he wouldn't let a striker who he paid £6 million for leave for nothing as it would only leave us with Milan Baros and Kanu for the FA Cup.
Nugent isn't 100% fit following a hernia operation and it's unlikely we'll see too much of him in the league games we have left now anyway. It might be in Dave's best interests to play some football before the season ends and put himself back in the shop window if he is to move on in the summer.
Who would have thought ten years ago when we beat Stockport at home that we'd ever be in the position to loan out a striker that has cost at least £5 million?
