Steve Cotterill has confirmed that David Norris has joined Portsmouth and will be officially unveiled on July 1st when the details of the deal will be revealed.
The former Ipswich captain will provide a goalscoring threat from midfield and can pick a pass so he should be the perfect foil for Hayden Mullins. That's not to say he doesn't work hard as Tractor Boys fans will tell you that he likes to get stuck in, so he could be viewed as a replacement for Michael Brown.
If the 30-year-old can reproduce the performances of his career at Plymouth and Ipswich then we've got a very good free transfer and there will be hope that Steve Cotterill can pull more deals like this out of the bag.
For now, it's simply good to know that Pompey have signed a player permanently! There is still much work to be done over the coming weeks with at least another eleven players to recruit.
It should be a very busy summer.
