Some more good news coming out of Pompey today as Lomana Lua Lua and Richard Hughes both signed new three year deals with the club.
This will be a relief to quite a few Pompey fans who regard Lua Lua asa key player to the club. I'm in that category and I believe that he will have his best season yet at Pompey. This is somewhat of a U-turn for Lomana as he recently stated that he had difficulties with the board but after a visit from Sacha's right-hand man David Chissick all problems were resolved and Lua Lua has pledged his future to Pompey.
I'm glad Hughes is sticking with us too, he obviously knows that he won't be in the starting eleven at the beginning of the season but I admire his will to fight for his place, as well as his commited, "no nonsense" style of play which is ideal for closing a game down. If he learnt how to pass forward, who knows? Maybe he could force his way into the first team?
Pompey have also revealed their new away strip today, a photo of which can be seen on the official site. It's white with blue sides and a gold trim and features a red OKI logo with the Jako logo on the right shoulder and the club badge in the centre of the shirt: now gold instead of yellow with the caption "since 1898" under the "Portsmouth FC". The shorts and socks are blue with white trim and the kit will sport gold lettering.
I have to say that I think the kit looks very good, far better than the red and gold one of last season. The team will run out in this new strip tommorow against Bournemouth.
