An agreement has been reached for Joe Mattock to return to Pompey for the rest of the season.
The West Brom left back returned to his parent club after the Watford match but was said to be "desperate" to come back to Fratton Park after his loan spell expired.
It seems doubtful that the 21-year-old will re-sign in time for the FA Cup tie at Chelsea, which is a shame as I felt that Joe was improving with every game and was outstanding in our last performance against Watford.
If all goes to plan (which, knowing Pompey, it might not) then Mattock will be available for the next league game at home to West Ham.
There are also rumours that his Albion team-mate Simon Cox is set to join him at Pompey once the ownership issue is resolved. The Baggies striker has found first-team opportunities limited at The Hawthorns but would make a good addition to any Championship squad.
