Young Manchester City duo Luca Scapuzzi and Karim Razik have signed for Portsmouth on a month's loan, subject to Premier League clearance.
Scapuzzi is a 20-year-old striker who was on loan at Oldham Athletic earlier in the season, scoring one goal in nine appearances. He has also made a senior appearance for City in their Carling Cup tie with Liverpool.
Rekik is a 17-year-old defender who can play at either left back or centre back. He is the Dutch U-17 captain, having skippered his nation to the UEFA U-21 championship last year.
There was some more good news as Scott Allan also extended his loan spell for a month having been impressive in his showings so far in a Pompey shirt.
However, perhaps the best news of all today is that there were no more departures before the loan deadline at 5pm today.
The vultures were circling but Jason Pearce and Joel Ward stayed at the club despite the attentions of Ipswich who were more than keen to sign the pair.
Today has given Pompey a fighting chance of staying in the Championship. We simply have to beat Coventry on Saturday now!
