It is being reported tonight that Alan McLoughlin has left Portsmouth after an internal dispute, although the club haven't officially made an announcement yet.
Macca was dismissed at around 8:30 this morning after apparently being told that the club are seeking an alternative coach with League Two experience.
The news has certainly come as a shock with speculation rife as to why someone who has served this football club so loyally has been let go in such a strange fashion. Has he had a bust up with Andy Awford? Did he fall out with the board? Or perhaps his replacement is actually going to be a genuine improvement who can assist the manager and players better than Macca and thus all sentiment should be disregarded?
Whatever the reasons for getting rid just days after his "a night with..." event, the future developments on this situation and the way the club officially spins this news should be very interesting indeed.
It's safe to say that the vast majority of Pompey fans, myself included, wsh Alan McLoughlin all the best for the future.
