BBC Solent has confirmed that Linvoy Primus has been laid off by Portsmouth as Trevor Birch looks to make more cuts ahead of a difficult summer for the club.
The administrator obviously believes that Pompey aren't in need of a club ambassador and has confirmed that another three members of staff have also had to be made redundant, with more losses to come as players will be transferred as a means of generating some income for the club and slashing the wage bill.
It's sad to see someone who is regarded as a Pompey legend has had to leave the club along with others who have worked hard for the cause but this action simply underlines just how much of a struggle this summer is going to be.
Expect some player deals to be announced in the next week or so, whilst the creditors' meeting tomorrow may well give us all an indication of just what the fate of Portsmouth FC might be before the Football League hold their AGM on June 2nd to determine if the club can fulfil its fixtures next season.
