In the greatest shock story of all time, Ognjen Koroman has joined Portsmouth once again on a season long loan from Terek Grozny. The 27 year-old Serb can play on the wing and would give the team some much needed natural width.
This brings Harry's total amount of summer signings to six at a total cost of £1.2 million, and even that was for only one player! (David James) This is Harry's second loanee adding to Glen Johnson whilst the other three signings (Campbell, Thompson and Kanu) have not cost a single penny in transfer fees. So despite all the money at Harry's disposal we are one of the smallest spenders in the Premiership which just goes to show where Harry's strengths lie in terms of bargains. Koroman's signing is not going to appease the Pompey "we must spend big" boys but his addition is a welcome one, especially if he reproduces his World Cup form. If not, it's no big deal and he can be sent back without any relatively large sums being spent on him.
In other news, Sky Sports are reporting that we are trying to sabotage Newcastle's move for Obafemi Martins. Apparently we have offered Inter Milan more money for him and greater personal terms for the player himself. Whilst I can't see anything other than a move to St. James' Park for the Nigerian international it's an interesting development and one maybe worth keeping an eye on.
