Pompey's top scorer Kanu is set to hand Harry Redknapp a boost by signing a new contract with the club after they offered him an improved deal.
Reports claim that the improved deal offers Kanu a better wage, instead of the extra year that he was asking for. The current length of the deal is said to be a year with the option of an extra year if the Nigerian Captain makes 20 appearances for the club this season.
Kanu's agent; Samuel Okoronkwo believes that Kanu could even be an African ambassador for Pompey because of his iconic status on that continent.
