Kallon On Trial

Sierra Leone striker Mohamed Kallon took part in a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa reserves tonight after Djimi Traore rescued a point in stoppage time.

Kallon, 27, is on trial with Pompey following his release from AS Monaco in the summer. The former Inter Milan forward was poised to join Birmingham last month but Steve Bruce opted against signing him because of work permit complications.

Linvoy Primus continued on the comeback trail with another 90 minutes under his belt and David Nugent figured once again. Other big names such as Pedro Mendes and Lauren featured in a strong line-up.

This was our side tonight:

GK: Jamie ASHDOWN

RB: LAUREN
CB: Linvoy PRIMUS
CB: Martin CRANIE
LB: Djimi TRAORE

RM: Franck SONGO'O
CM: Pedro MENDES
CM: Arnold MVUEMBA
LM: Matthew TAYLOR

CF: David NUGENT
CF: Mo KALLON

That team there contains two Champions League winners and a player who has won numerous trophies with Arsenal. It's fair to say that this team could probably win the Coca Cola Championship and would probably survive in the Premier League too.

Matty Taylor grabbed Pompey's first goal before Traore headed in the equaliser in stoppage time.
