Glen Johnson is set to sign for Liverpool for a fee ranging between £17 million to £20 million after Pompey held talks with the Reds last night.
It is reported that the fee was agreed yesterday evening and that Johnson would prefer to go to Anfield rather than Stamford Bridge. It's also believed that Pompey still owe Liverpool £7 million for Peter Crouch and so can sign him for a reduced fee.
As has been said by virtually every other Pompey fan, we're disappointed to lose such a fantastic player but you can't deny him the opportunity to play in the Champions League for a massive club.
It's also a very good deal for the club. A fee in excess of £17 million is a huge amount of money for a full back but I just wonder if that will be going to the club or if it will be financing Sacha's debt before he sells up to Sulaiman Al-Fahim.
