Adam Webster has completed his move to Ipswich Town with Portsmouth receiving Matt Clarke and a reported fee of £750,000 for the 21-year-old defender.
Clarke has signed a three-year contract and has already proven himself a more-than-capable League Two defender. At just 19-years-old he will only improve so for Ipswich to give Pompey such a prospect as well as (supposedly) three quarters of a million pounds for a player who, despite his potential, only rose to prominence last year, is a superb deal.
It will be a shame to see Adam go after spending so long at Pompey but we'll all wish him the best at Portman Road. Hopefully that large sum of money (by League Two standards) will buy a striker capable of scoring the goals required for promotion this upcoming season.
