England boss Steve McClaren is set to swallow his pride and come to Fratton Park for the first time to watch Sol Campbell and David James with a view to calling them both up to the squad to face Germany.
McClaren faces a crisis at the back with John Terry, Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate injured and Jamie Carragher retired from international football. This opens the door for the Pompey captain who hasn't featured for the national side since the 2-2 draw with Sweden during the World Cup last summer.
David James could also possibly be called back to the squad after the England manager after admitting that he would be "silly" to ignore him after his outstanding performances for Pompey last season and during pre-season.
Ben Foster's injury will only increase Jamo's chances of getting into the squad and if it were down to many England fans he would be in goal ahead of Paul Robinson who has been in poorer form.
McClaren is set to watch Pompey's home clash with Manchester United to run the rule over the various England stars on the pitch. Who knows? Maybe Matt Taylor, Gary O'Neil or David Nugent will get called up, although Southampton winning promotion this season is more likely...
Enjoy the wonderful Fratton Park seats, Steve.
